I was brought up on the family farm at Piercebridge. I attended Northumbria University, studying Business Studies.

I trained with a firm in Barnard Castle, before moving over into industry, in the engineering sector. I then switched back into Public Practice, becoming a Partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants in 1994. I moved on in 2003 to manage my own practice as a Sole Practitioner in 2003.

I hope I am regarded by my clients as ‘hands on’, with a practical approach. I try to adopt a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ approach. I have experience across a wide variety of business sectors, notably, construction and hospitality.

In the course of my career I’ve developed special interests, in particular, business strategy and growth, Start Up business and business development.

Outside the of the office, I enjoy golf, walking and eating out.

Prasad Nayanakantha

Prasad joined Teesdale Accounting (Darlington) Ltd in 2017 with over 10 years of experience in Audit and Accounting. He started his career in audit in 2006 with Ernst & Young Sri Lanka and became a part qualified Chartered Accountant. Prasad has finished BSc Management Degree in 2007 in Sri Lanka and become an Associate member of Certified Public Accountants – United Kingdom in 2015.

Prasad has just finished his MSc Accounting & Finance Degree in Teesside University in 2018 and is currently studying towards membership of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - ACCA.

Prasad has experience of group reporting and with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), IAS and FRS. He has built up significant expertise in many industries including Audit, Accounting and Banking and Finance.

Carolina Chapman

Carolina is a member of The Association of Accounting Technicians AAT and is currently working towards her Association of Chartered Certified Accountant- ACCA full membership.

Carolina comes from a law degree background, her interest in accountancy sprung up when she moved from Brazil to UK to join her husband family business in 2004. It’s all started with a basic bookkeeping course at Stockton Riverside College-SRC followed by AAT course under influence from her lecturer and now ACCA.

Carolina joined Teesdale Accounting (Darlington) Ltd team in 2011 working with Bookkeeping and Payroll department, Taxation and Accounts Production using Sage Accounts, Sage Payroll, Brightpay and IRIS Software. Carolina hobbies are reading, music, theatre, leisure dog walks and CrossFit.

Olivia Cooper

Olivia joined the team over a year ago and has recently completed her degree in Accounting and Finance at Teesside University. She is currently studying with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), to become a chartered accountant.

Her main duties involve, general bookkeeping, assisting with VAT returns, and helping with day to day administration in the office. She is able to work with a variety of accounting software systems such as; Sage, Iris, and Xero.
